See what happens when you are too cheap to buy Trillian?
In case you don't recognize the icons, from left to right it's Sametime, GoogleTalk, AIM, Yahoo Messenger, and MSN Messnger. I can only imagine the drain on my Windows resrouces.

You could always get the free version of Trillian and at least get AIM, Y!, and MSN in one application... :) Then you only have 3 instead of 5!

How about Gaim? Gaim is cheap (free) and it can take the place of Sametime, GoogleTalk, AIM, YM, and MSN Messenger. { Link }

Thanks for the ideas. I have decided to go with Gaim since it replaces all of my other clients. Hopefully, the 2.0 Beta 5 will be stable enough to keep in my toolbox for quite a while.

I decided to try it. The last time I looked, the Sametime piece wasn't free (or maybe not available). I just installed it and I'm digging it. Consolidation! :)
