I have found a new addiction and it's going to be around for some time to come. My daily commute includes a 20 minute drive and a 30 minute Metro ride. Originally, I had thought that I would use the time on the train to blog on my laptop. This idea quickly died at the hands of reality. Having to change trains, not always having a seat, and the less than spacious lap room in the seats made pulling the laptop out more of a chore than I wanted. Add to that the time lost waiting for Windows to come back to life or waiting for the train and you can see why I got frustrated.
Enter in my new Blackberry Curve. I use this hi-tech device to do blogging in a low-tech way.....via email. I simply compose an email to myself, put the title of the post in the subject, and compose the entry in the body of the email. When I am done, I just hit send without worrying about connectivity. Then, when I get to work or home, I copy the email into a new blog entry, format it as I would like, and add any pertinent links.
I wrote the majority of this post and the previous 2 posts on my BB. I even did some writing while I was keeping watch over the kids in the bath last night. In addition to being able to write an entry just about anywhere, I never have to worry about getting sidetracked and running out of battery, which happens often on the laptop.
Hopefully, this new method will allow me to blog more often. At the very least, I should become much better on the BB keyboard.

Why not write an agent that can convert the email directly into a blog entry then setup the template with a mail-in database document in the nab.
Of course I do have to point out BBMetaBlog for the Blackberry by Jason Hook that willl allow you to write and edit blog entries on any MetaWebLog API enabled blog ( including Blogsphere ) :-)
BTW, wouldn;t it be better to add some client side javascript to make sure the 'Subject' line of the comment is filled in before submitting the comment here instead of just going to a blank webpage that says 'Refused'. I had to retype my comment again...

I guess it all comes down to the level of control I want. I tend to put a lot of links and formatting in my posts and want to be able to take a look at it before I put it into production.
In the near future, I probably with implement a bastardized version of the MetaWebLog API in the Domino Blogging Template, but I have some other code that I need to get into my ASND applications before that.
I will think about adding some JS to do some validation of the comments form prior to submission. Thanks for the heads up.

Sean,
I do quite a bit of blogging through quick notes in MemoPad on my BB, or at least I get the general idea for blog posts down, then I sync to my Notes Journal, copy and paste and format as you mention and voila!
I like going the low-tech route the same as you. But it sure is nice to get some ideas down on virtual paper so I don't have to go back and remember my stunning wittiness hour later. Right...

I think all of you need help! LOL Sean should be paying attention to the kids when they are in the bath so that they aren't trying to drown each other instead of writing a blog entry!

My commute 5 minutes. 20 if I drop my son at school. That said, I live closest...two SNAPPS people drive 40 minutes each way, the other two drive 25 each way. Guess who gets to pick where the office goes? :-)

@Rob - Although the length of the commute isn't great, it has turned out to be a relatively stress free commute. Much different than the one I was making to Bethesda for 3 years. That one totally sucked on a good day and was a good enough reason to 'Be Like Bill' and down a bottle of whiskey on the bad days. A bad day being any time precipatation fell from the sky.
After working from home for 2 years, it has actually been nice to get back out into the world. The train ride has given me a chance to catch up on some reading that I have been meaning to do as well as write some more blog entries.
And as Mel Brooks so aptly said in the History of the World, Part 1, "It's good to be the king!"
