Making my mouth water

I have been reading Steve's Guides to Irish Idiom in preparation for returning to ILUG this year. Aside from meeting back up with the crew of misfits that always seem to be at these events, one of the things I am most looking forward to getting my hands on is a Kopparberg Pear Cider. Being the foo-foo drinker that I am, I am not able to really stomach trying to get pissed off of pints of Guinness. Now, if you keep feeding me these, I might even be willing to join Steve in a little Bushmills. At the very least, I think I'd be willing to do an encore of Paradise by the Dashboard Light.

here now wait a mo. Do you do the full performance with scantily clad ladies and big mo'bikes? Cos even if you sing like a weasel with is knob caught in a mangle, scantily clad ladies and mo'bikes are not to be sneezed at!

Just to get thing right. Kopparberg is a Swedish brewery, not connected to Ireland. :-)

@Joachim - We Irish are many things but xenophopic about drink we are not. Bavarian Beer, Swedish Cider, French Calvados, Greek Ouzo, Czech Slivovice (??), Polish Vodka we welcome it all as long as it is nice and makes us relax enough that falling down doesn't hurt ...(oh such a stereotype i am painting!) We will be rude about for example mass market USian and French beer which is referred to as "Canoe beer" because it is so close to water. (yes yes yes i know there are lovely USian beers but we only get to taste the Bud's and their ilk which is inclined to colour our perceptions)

I have been playing about with the idea of suggesting that we name one of the nights of ILUG - iGLUG, we have an extra night which we could devote to collaboration (whose round it is?), deep insightful conversation (it cant be my round already?), Admin v. Developer table football and perhaps the odd spot of spontaneous raucous singing.

Since this will in all probability happen naturally why not give it a name and have teeshirts? We are geeks after all!

I motion that we BAN Kevin Pettit from bringing a camera or any other video or audio recording device to ILUG!

Please, somebody, anybody, second that motion! We'll have lots more fun if we are not worried about seeing it on youtube the next day!

p.s. we need to ban balloons, too :)
